In the following questions, spades are trump and you hold the following cards: S AT9, H 32, D J76 C none. What is the correct card to play in each of the following situations assuming that you are last to play?

For the following questions, assume that spades are trumps. Determine the maximum number of tricks that can be taken in the suit combinations below and spell out your approach to take those tricks

Hint: You first play one round of hearts at which point your partner's Hearts are exhausted. After this, you have 2 little hearts and partner has none. Now you lead a little heart from your hand and use one of partner's spades to ruff it. Then you get back to your hand, lead the other heart and use another spade to ruff that one as well. This way you make 2 spade tricks in hand (A and K) and 2 ruffs in partner's hand for a total of 4 tricks.
